The Little Things Make Me Happy

The Little Things Make Me Happy!

The little things make me very happy. I just discovered that there are more emoticons available for Blackberry Messenger (BBM). I haven't figured out how to save them yet but I do know how to copy and paste them into my BBMs.

For those of you who are interested copy and paste the below message and email it to yourself. Then copy it into a BBM. They don't look like anything until they are in the BBM. You have to copy it into a BBM in sections because there are so many. Sorry that some are repeating.

Enjoy!!!!

The EReader debate

The EReader Debate

For months I have been trying to decide between the Nook and the Kindle. Then the Ipad came out now all I can think about is that! So I have been debating between the three devices. The Ipad does everything under the sun, but it is so much more expensive then the other devices. The kindle is only black and white, and it doesn't have a back-light which would make reading at night in bed impossible. It does have a keyboard though which is a plus. The Nook is in color as well, but it doesn't have a keyboard. I can go to websites and check my email from it and it has a back-light so I would be able to read at night. I can import my files into all the devices.

I think part of the reason the decision is so hard is because the Ipad is so expensive. It was the same price or close in price to the Nook and the Kindle I would be getting that. Unfortunately that is not the case so I can't decide between the three devices.
So I am bring my debate to everyone to help me make a decision. What EReader device do you have and what are your likes and dislikes? Is it easy to import files? Is the software user friendly? I want to know everything about your device. How did you decide to get the device you have?

Welcome to
Stumble Tumble Tuesday hosted by Simply Stacie, Still Blonde After All These Years, Shopper Gal, Luxury Reading, Acting Balanced and Kelly’s Lucky You! The goal of this hop is to use Stumble Upon to help you promote your blog posts and get more traffic!
If you are new to Stumble Upon, please check out this tutorial on how it works.
To take part is simple.
1. Add a link to a blog post that you would like people to stumble to the linky below. It *must* be a link to an actual post and NOT your main site. Please do not list giveaways.
2. Stumble the 5 posts above your link. This way everyone’s posts will be stumbled. If you like you can stumble them all. The great thing about Stumble Upon is that it is fast and easy to do with the Stumble Upon toolbar. PLEASE DO NOT ADD YOUR LINK IF YOU AREN’T GOING TO STUMBLE ANY POSTS. This hop will only work if we all do our share.
Important Note: If you are the first person to Stumble a post, please take a minute and fill out the Stumble Upon review page. This is a one shot deal so if you don’t fill it out, that particular post will never get the same opportunity again.

STLYISH BLOG AWARD!!!

I received my first blog award tonight. I received this lovely award from Cathy at Lip Gloss and Literature! Thank you so much Cathy. I hope that the blog continues to be "stylish" and inspire others.

And Now the Rules of the Award:

1. Thank the person who gave you the award and link back to them in your post.
2. Tell us 7 things about yourself.
  1. I love reading chick lit.
  2. I will be an audiologist soon.
  3. I put my heart and soul into everything I do.
  4. My favorite authors are Meg Cabot, Jennifer Weiner, Emily Giffin, Sophie Kinsella, and Jane Green.
  5. I never liked reading as a child until my mother walked in with me watching the Princess Diaries movie for the millionth time and said to me you know that's a book right? That was all it took for me to pick up Meg Cabot's books. I have read every single one under her pseudoname and her name.
  6. I am counting down until Meg Cabot's next books come down.
  7. I wish I had more time to just sit and read.
3. Award 15 super stylish bloggers this award.

4. Contact those bloggers and let them know they have won.

Thank you again for the award. I hope that everyone continues to enjoy it. Please feel free to express your likes and dislikes as this is my first venture into blogging and value everyone's input!

After You by Julie Buxbaum (Chick Lit Challenge and TBR Challenge Book 2, Just For Fun Challenge Book 1)

I read After You by Julie Buxbaum. This book explores friendship and marriage. It wasn't my favorite book. If I had read and was obsesed with The Secret Garden I probably would have enjoyed it more. It begins with life long friends. One passes away and the other attempts to help raise her daughter.

I highly recommend you read it and use your own judgment!

Vacation Nightmare!

After spending months working my rear end off I decided to take a vacation. My flight was scheduled for a week after the major snowstorm on the east coast.
I got to the airport 2 hours early to get through security and check in. Checked in and sat in waiting. About 40 minutes before the scheduled flight time they announced that the plane would start boarding shortly. 15 minutes later they announce that the flight is delayed because although the pilot is there the rest of they could not find the rest of the flight crew. The flight got cancelled at the time we were supposed to take off because they couldn't find a flight crew.
So I went standby on another flight at gate one.  The crew assured me that my luggage would be on the first standby flight regardless of whether I get on the flight or not. It would be there waiting for me. Well the first flight
came and went and I wasn't on it. At this point I was traveling with a group of people from my original flight. They sent us all on standby to another flight at gate 27. The very last gate!  The second flight came and went I wasn't on it. Flight number 3 sent us back to gate 5 after sitting a half hour we were moved to gate 19. 3 flights and 14 hours later I were in Florida.
The company had assured me several thousand times that my luggage would be on that first standby flight and would be in Florida waiting for me. When I actually got here we had no luggage. Baggage claim told me that although you stick a bar coded tag onto the luggage when you check it in they don't actually use a check in system so they had no way of telling me if my luggage was sitting in the original airport, on plane to Florida or in Aruba! STUPID!!!! Why bother with a bar code if you are not going to use it!
I had to first go by essentials at 2am. I borrowed clothes from my family and bought a few things the next day. They finally found my luggage 48 hours later.
I got here safe which is really all that matters and they did find our luggage eventually. Lol

The flight home was significantly less eventful! Went to the airport 2 hours early to get through security just like I did last time. The plane arrived 5 minutes after sitting at the gate. They assured us that the plane would be cleaned and checked and boarding in 40 minutes. Turns out plane and crew came in together so 20 minutes later we boarded and took off 30 minutes early, which led to us landing 40 minutes early!!!! Luggage came through the belt almost right away! :)

Alyce K. Williams The Only Thing Better Than Good Is New

I recently read A.K. (Alyce K.) Williams book The Only Thing Better Than Good Is New. It was a fantastic read. Although short, which only means that it could be read in one sitting it was an absoultely fantastic read. It reminded me a lot of the Sex and The City tv show. It easily caught my attention.
